Corn Tortillas
- Corn flour (often called masa)
- Water
- Oil, spices (optional)
*A friend of mine said she adds chicken broth instead of water and also mixes in minced sauteed onions. Never tried it but it sounds great.
- Place flour in a bowl and add water little by little until the mixture is barely sticky and easy to handle.
- Take a golf ball sized ball of the mixture and between two pieces of wax paper, use the palm of your hand to press it into a tortilla. (Thickness depends on your tastes)
- Remove the wax paper from one side and flip the tortilla over into a frying pan (with no grease) on medium-high heat, peeling off the piece of wax paper in the process.
- Cook about 2 minutes on each side, or until golden
